Sun protection is one of the most important steps in your daily skincare routine because UV radiation significantly contributes to premature skin aging. Zerø Skin therefore includes sun protection as a fixed step in its morning routine.

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) indicates how strongly a sunscreen protects against UVB radiation.

Every skin type has a natural protection time – that is, the amount of time it can spend in the sun without sunscreen before it starts to redden or burn. The sun protection factor (SPF) extends this natural protection time. Simply put, if your skin reddens quickly without protection, SPF 30 can extend this time approximately 30 times, and SPF 50 approximately 50 times.

However, this is only a guideline, because the actual protection also depends on skin type, sun intensity, amount of product and reapplication.

Zerø Skin currently offers mineral sunscreen sticks with SPF 50 , both tinted and untinted . Both provide broad-spectrum, mineral-based protection against UVA/UVB rays and are suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. In addition, we offer our universal mineral sunscreen cream for face and body with SPF 50 , as well as a tinted sunscreen with SPF 30 .

The difference lies in the UV filters . A mineral/physical sunscreen contains zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, or both as active filters. A chemical sunscreen contains other UV filters and is not a mineral sunscreen. The American Academy of Dermatology also describes mineral sunscreens as particularly suitable for sensitive skin.
